I read on other threads contradicting information.
I went to Gementee last month to check with them about the required documents for nationality. I showed them the birth certificate from 5 years ago when I first came, and other documents and they said all is ok!
Now I am confused because other threads say I need a fresh one! and I am supposed to apply after two months.
Do I need fresh legalization + translation of my birth certificate? Honestly, it does not make sense if I have to redo it. I mean, my birth date didn't change!!!

@Waleedov it sounds logically that you only need to submit the one that you have. I remember reading from somewhere that they confirmed a birth certification could be reused as its not changed. For other papers, it needs to be fresh within 3 months (?)
Lets wait till someone who submitted coònirms.

I applied last year and I had to bring a new recent birth certificate not older than 6 months. Legalised and translated.
Better confirm again. Their website states clearly you need a new one. Good luck.

Being asked for a new one is quite common across the EU.

@Waleedov
Hi my name is Disu.
I had the same issues .I didnt an affidavit from Canada and spend money it was not good.
My advise will be to check if the originzl document was recorded on the system when you came.
If yes ask them to use it if not you need a new to redo the process(valid at least for the pass 6 months

Can someone confirm, please? It's very costly to redo it in my country!

Well i can give sort of answer.
When i got married in belgium 5 years ago i submitted my original birth certificate which they kept.

I applied my citizenship during the covid so unable to got new birth certificate from my home land. Therefore i found another way.

The 5 years old documents wont help you since the apostille validity is limited. But if you have submitted your documents like me i don't know other scenarios.

You can ask for a copy from belgium Court. They provide attested complete set of copy which is vaild.

Since i requested and submitted during my application..
