Hello All,
I signed an offer letter recently but the new company is asking me to change the profession on my iqama mentioning the reason that"Profession in iqama doesn't match the job title in contract".I asked them to do the transfer now and if needed they can change the iqama profession during iqama renewal. Please advice if someone has been in the similar situation.

Thanks

Can anyone please advice on my above query

Dear Rahmath,
study the advantages of profession, and do check if that profession required any educational document, bcuz if you will not be able to provide the same educational document then in future you will not be able to renew your iqama.

and yes govt is very strict now a days that person should work on same profession as mention on iqama, so your education document in HEC should be matching with your iqama profession

It would help if you could list the current and proposed professions.

Practically speaking, they CAN transfer you now and then change the profession later.  But, I think they are asking you to do it because if you don't have the qualifications or attestations to be able to change it, then they will withdraw the offer vs. bothering with this issue.

I have come across this issue with some candidates.  For example, someone was on a marketing specialist profession but was an accountant - this meant that he needed to register with SOCPA.  There was some problem with degree attestation and he couldn't do it.   So we didn't hire him.

Thanks for replying.
I spoke to the HR they agreed to get the iqama transferred and later on change the profession before renewal.

My case is similar to what you mentioned in here.
The job title is Sales Analyst but in jawazat i'm Computer Engineer. Also I'm registered in Saudi Council of Engineers for the past 6 yrs as i have been renewing it's membership every year. I hope this will not deter me from getting my iqama transferred. Please need advice.

Computer programmer can work as sales analyst as all analysis is done by sitting infront of computer, :)
So try to think the way people think where you are living.
So no need to change your profession.
