I plan to au pair in Italy on a year-long student Visa beginning mid-July. Beforehand, I'd like to visit friends in Germany. Does anyone know if these travels would impede upon my ability to get the Visa when I arrive in Italy? I know I can travel within the Schengen countries for ninety days without one, but I wondered if there might be a problem if I did so directly before my Visa began.
