Hi all,
I need urgent help,

I had come here on a maid visa and now i am changing it to family visa under my husband. My current employer is asking me to exit and cancel the visa and he is also ready to give NOC. I would like to ask if this is possible? He says cancelleing my visa will let him keep the maid visa wheras a transfer will cancel his maid visa? Is this right? Please help

Hi Reshdsc,

If your sponsor is giving you an NOC, there is nothing for you to worry.

But do not exit, without the NOC.

Thank you for your prompt response. Will this help him in retaining the maid visa? If i cancel and exit? I am worried about this, as he is unwilling to let me transfer here itself without exiting.

Hi Reshdsc,

Quite frankly, the choice of whether an NOC may, or may not be given, rests with the sponsor / employer only. So unfortunately, the employee cannot demand for an NOC to be given.

Whether or not the sponsor / employer would lose their labour clearance by giving an NOC is immaterial.
