Any clear guides on financial help for those in a Nursing Home?

Post new topic

MovingToTheMed

Hello, it's been a while since I posted!

Unfortunately my Mum-in-law has had to move into a private Nursing Home in Marsascala.

I am wondering (hoping) if there is any help financially due from either Maltese or UK Government for OAP living in a Nursing Home that we should explore?

If you have any knowledge and experience in this area please let us know the best place to start looking . Thank you.

It is expensive (especially in comparison to what local Maltese pay for care) and more than she can afford.

Thank you
Matt & Maria

This link gives info on benefits for expats living abroad but sadly it looks like there is nothing for your MIL.

I doubt that there is anything from the Maltese government unless she is a Maltese citizen.

Thank you tearnet, for the link. Doesn't look promising.

It would be advisable to start a new topic as this one is from eight years ago, good luck.
