Hello everyone,

I just saw a post on Americanbedu.com about a Lynx imprisoned at a pet store here in Riyadh, & it's really aweful. I ve been there before & the whole situation is a disaster. Joon is supposedly a pet shop but they keep wild animals too. The boxes are tiny, smelly..(to say the least) & depressing for animals as well as anyone who cares about & love animals.
Kindly, I would like you to take a look at the post here americanbedu.com/2010/11/16/saudi-arabia-you-can-help-to-save-the-lynx/ sign the petition, join the facebook page & most importantly plzzzzzzzzzz spread the word around if you care & I'm hopeful that most of you if not all of you do.

Pls after you sign & join the group say it here so that others get encouraged to the the same.

Thank you so much everyone.

Actually - what are you doing about freeing the lynx. If you been there before, why have you not gone down to the pet shop and arranged for the transfer of the lynx back home.

Be proactive please!

I just checked on their FB page, it's already been released

To everyone who supported the 'Free the Lynx at Joon Pet Shop' Campaign:

We have fantastic news: the pet shop owner has voluntarily handed over the Lynx to Riyadh Zoo!!

Through our campaign and the use of online forums, the petition, Facebook and email we, in a matter of a few weeks, got people all over Saudi Arabia (and the world, if you look at the 888 petition signatures) thinking and talking about animal welfare and the plight of the Lynx.

The lynx is currently under quarantine at the zoo but we are advised that he is eating well and settling in. He has been treated for parasites and, once he has completely recovered, he will be transferred to a better facility within the zoo.  Of course we will be keeping a close eye on his progress, so those of you who are interested in updates should check the Facebook group: facebook.com/group.php?gid=165592253458342

Sadly there are still many animals in Riyadh who need our help.  Please visit the group for details of forthcoming new campaigns!  Together we have shown that we CAN make a difference, one animal at a time.

Thanks again to everyone who showed their support,

Obviously you didn't read my post Mr Sparrow!!!
I mentioned that I JUST came across the post which means ONLY LAST NIGHT!!! just before I sent this post (which is out of good intentions). & what I meant by being there before is that I ve been to Joon over two years now, when I was looking for a pet to buy!!!
Besides who are you to come & lecture me & tell me what to do?? Save your lectures to yourself & if you don't have something good to say, say NOTHING!!

Yeah!! well that's what you get when you let the tongue go loose on others with that (you're nothing tone), & start judging people just because you're behind a screen!!
Mean & rude to me, I'm BITTER to you :)

Happy Eid Salman!

Alisan (and anyone else thinking about buying a pet) - PLEASE DON'T BUY FROM A PET SHOP!!  In Riyadh these are inhumane breeding factories where the 'produce' is usually sick or has genetic problems as a result.

Instead, check out Riyadh OPEN PAWS on Facebook: facebook.com/pages/Open-Paws/367518217586
and take a look at their adoptions page.  They have some beautiful animals available that have all been neutered, vaccinated and house trained that just need a loving home.

Thankyou.
