Pigeon Holes for Accommodation

Just starting discussion. why in the world, kuwait real estate developers make pigeon hole apartments. I mean what are they thinking, what are their architects thinking when they design floor plans. I have visited some new constructed building and was disappointed looking at the apartments designs and ridiculously small spaces offered for living.

be it bedroom, hall, bathroom or kitchen, basic furniture fill up the space .. hardly anything else is left other than walking space between them.

kitchen must be well ventilated at least with a decent window that allows natural light and some air circulations, wherein I see kitchen is a small cage and a charity window which too is sometime sealed with a glass and a tiny exhaust fan .. does that help ventilate better with cooking heat ..
