Hello

I am living in india and want to migrate to Edinburgh . I have 10 years of experience in Finance and currently employed in India. I do not have a job in Edinburgh yet . If i apply for work permit and then look out for job is it easier to find one? How much does it cost to get a work permit on your own?

Thanks
Shetty

It doesn't work that way, Shetty. You cannot get a work visa without a sponsor who can only be your new employer. So you have to find some company who wants to employ you to fill their vacancy - they will help you apply for the visa. It won't be easy as UK companies are required by law to fill their vacancies with EU citizens wherever possible.
