Not sure whether this topic has come up before.
Have you picked up new slang words/expressions from the place /country where you are now living ?
I have ...here are a few English slang words :
nosh-food
dosh-money
gob -mouth (big mouth)
gobsmacked -shocked (into silence)
oi -hey
jugs -breasts

I've actually really tried to NOT pick up slang. I have heard way too many Americans using slang incorrectly and making fools of themselves. There is something about Americans saying really obviously British words that rubs me the wrong way - it comes across like they are trying too hard to fit in (and actually end up doing exactly the opposite).
