myself! :)

I'm currently living in the UK but have plans in place to move to Mauritius within the next 2 (or at a push 3) years with my partner who is Mauritian. This gives me time for me to get my masters, and him time to organise everything back at home.
I know I'm a bit early but I like to be prepared. So just thought I'd introduce myself so I feel comfortable asking questions.

I will be the spouse of a citizen of Mauritius. Will I need a separate permit if I want to work?

Hi Saraa and welcome to Expat.com and of course the Mauritian forum :)
It's good to take all necessary information in advance; so don't hesitate to browse the forum in search of it. You will see there's loads of them and the people here are very nice and helpful:D!
As spouse of of a Mauritian citizen, you won't need any permit to work, that's for sure but your marriage certificate will need to be registred (check out previous discussions where I'm sure you'll find info regarding the latter).
Success with you new adventure!
Cheers

Hi Saraa,

I can put you in touch with a shipping agent in London who specialises in moving personal effects to Mauritius. He's been doing it for almost 20 years now!

Take Care!
