Hi koki..boki,

presuming that you are a non-EU passport holder it can take several months. It depends on the job you are applying for. If the company applying for you is in urgent need of a specialist and the position could not be filled by a Maltese or EU citizen then it would be much faster.

Why did you go by yourself? It is much better if your future employer goes and applies. What job are you applying for and when  did you present the documents?

Cheers

Duxx

mine took almost 4 months, my company asked for it

ricky

Duxx,

why did your employer ask for a work permit? From your profile you are from Croatia and part of the EU ? Or are you talking about some years ago ?

For third-country nationals the employer is supposed to apply for the work permit for the employee. That makes things easier.

i am from Croatia, but we are a part of EU only from June 2013 and Malta has issued a 2 year veto on employing Croatian people in Malta

so my employer send a request for my work permit clamming that I have unique skills which they are unable to find on Malta and based on that I got a work permit

ricky

Hi Duxx,

thanks for the info.

That means that Croatian citizens need a work permit until May 2015 !

Cheers
Ricky
