entitled for compensation

Syed11

hey guys

Syed Saad this side from India.i got a job offer with a reputed retailer in bahrain and i was to join in early november but due to some issue with the visa department in bahrain i havn't recieved the visa yet.

As per my HR's direction i had resigned from my previous job in november itself, hence i have suffered a loss of money for the past 3 months

i would like to have your advice wether i should ask my employer to compensate me for the loss of money now / after getting my visa....else i shouldn't discuss this with them

thanks in advance
will appreciate quick responses

Regards
Saad

Hi Saad
One of the biggest mistakes anyone can make is resigning from existing jobs when the paper work for a potential job is not complete.

Your potential employer will not accept responsibility for your action, even if you claim that their HR told you to this. You could raise the matter and ask for some compensation, but i doubt if it will be successful nor helpful at this stage. Maybe you can do this after you come over.

As a general rule, never resign from existing jobs until everything is set for new jobs.
Best wishes.

Farhaz is right. You will not be able to get any compensation from the company in Bahrain.
