Post new topic

markdinoalbiela

Hi! I’m a Filipino nurse and currently working here in Libya. I will be flying to malta maybe next year and planning to work as caregiver just for the start while processing my registration as a nurse there. I just want to ask how much is the average salary of caregiver there and the cost of living so I can compare with my salary here in Libya.. thanks in advance..

You can have a look at the ETC website for caregiver positions and what salary is offered (quite often these are live-in positions)

https://secure.etc.gov.mt/Jobseeker/Job … earch.aspx

However you will need a work permit, so you will need to find an employer who will be willing to help you with it.

You can compare the cost of living here

I am sorry to inform you that most of them are around 4/5 euro per hour

Hi Mark,

as has already been said the wage is very low and it will be very difficult just coming to Malta and finding work. It probably won't work.

You will have to secure a job before you come to Malta with an employer willing to apply for a work permit for you. Otherwise you will not be able to stay for very long without residency , most probably not long enough to secure work, work permit and residency.

Unless you find work as a live-in carer which covers most of your costs the salary will probably not really cover the cost of living.

Cheers
Ricky
