Greetings one and all,

My background is being a former Expat who has lived and worked in Germany and Kuwait. I have traveled to Brasil, most of Western Europe, Hong Kong, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates.

My wife and I are moving from the USA to Italy in the next 3 - 4 years. I have identified, collected, assembled for our eventual move to Italy many, many links about things one should be aware of before moving to Italy. There are two things that I have done:

1.  I have created a blog titled, "Moving2Italy2", moving2italy2.blogspot.com.
2.  I have created a Word document titled, "Info on Italy" that includes hundreds of links with a table of contents.

I believe that these links listed in Item #2 above will benefit other like-minded individuals who are considering or dreaming to move to Italy. This effort is on-going and I hope will benefit with the interaction with interested individuals.

On an irregular schedule, I will be listing sections from the "Info on Italy" document.  In the past week, I have made the following postings in my blog.  The are the following:

1.  Info on EXPATS: Primarily in Italy
2.  Info on Blogs about Italy, Blog Resources and Lists/Directories of Blogs
3.  Info on how to become an Italian Citizen
4.  Info on finding out more about your Italian Ancestry

That's it for now and I look forward to hearing from you.

Ciao, Ben

Hello Ben,

welcome among us !!
The "Info on Italy" document sounds very interesting because it is a king of the idea of this website ... regrouping interesting information for expatriate people and future expatriate people !!!

A technical information, you can add your blog web address in your profile, then there will be a link near your name when you will post an answer.

By the way, where do you plan to go in Italy ? Because I moved from France in Lecce, south of Italy for 6 months now ....

ciao

Laurent

Welcome Ben :)

Wow you're definitely a former expat/traveler! Which place did you like the most?

About the information you're currently collecting, you're very welcome to share your experience on the "resources" part of this website.

I began with Spain but I've still got a lot of work ;)

Feel free to edit this page https://www.expat.com/resources/doku.php/italy

All the best,

Julien

Laurent and Julien,

Thanks for the welcome MSGs.

We have not made a decision on where.  Next May, we are going to the Le Marche region to check it out.  My wife wants to avoid snow and I want to avoid extreme heat.  However, she doesn't mind the heat.  We have a couple years to search around Italy to find a place to retire to.

I have created a blog titled, Moving2Italy2 and I encourage you to read it and provide me some feedback.

Ciao, Ben

I don't know that much about Italy so I won't be able to advise you about the country, maybe you should post a new topic in the "Living in Europe" forum?

I wish you the best of luck in your projects :)
