Hi again..

I hope this will be my final question about my employment. So here its goes:
- I Got my contract, but they didn't ask my certificates to be attested, should I bring along? Should I not? (My current location is not in my home country, so it will be a lot of hustle for me to get it attested, specially if I have to go home first and then get all documents attested in the capital city and then fly back to Abu Dhabi)
- Since they did not mention anything regarding authentication of certificates, I was planing to fly directly from where I am now (without my certificates). Will I get any problem getting the work permit? Will they cancel my employment (even I was never informed) ?
-I heard that u've got to have a degree when u were hired as a manager (I don't have a degree, but I have 10 years experience on my field and I have worked with one of the directors who's  hiring me now), so basically he hired me based on my experience. Will I get a problem obtaining my work permit? Is it a rule & regulation of the government or is it case by case base on the employer?

Thanks so much, I appreciate all comments and information..

Regards,
CP

Hi Chickenpox,

I can only tell you of my experience at present as i also have just signed a contract. The company I am going to be working for have requested my educational certificates as it seems a big part of things over there. However I just scanned these and sent via email.

I have however received a email regarding visa requirements and although it says getting them attested by the UAE embassy in your country is optional it states not getting them attested will mean you get issued your residence visa job title being a generic title.

Not sure if that would matter...

Hope that helps

Hi Collin,

Many thanks for your comments. After u scanned your documents (without being scanned I believe), is everything working fine with u? Did they stated your title on the resident visa as it is in the contract? If its not, how does it affecting your life in Abu Dhabi? Did u get any trouble, i.e: getting driving license, loan to purchase car, traveling, etc..

Thank you again..

Hi CP,

I am not in AD at the moment I am not going over for another month but just doing all my visa stuff through the company. I scanned the documents and attached them as a PDF via email. Although my visa requirements said the getting them attested part is optional I am unsure if it makes a difference once your over there! Perhaps someone could tell us both who is living over there currently?!

Anyone?

Thanks for sharing Colin, may I know where are u based at the moment?
Is it possible that the "getting them attested part" is based on the country of origin? (As a lot of other thing here is based on nationality)
Yes please, if anyone could share will be great.. ;)

Hi CP,

I am currently in the UK, so not sure if the requirements are different for a British passport holder. Thought it would be easier for westerners. Like I said the getting attested part is listed as optional for myself but it may be a requirement if you are coming from elsewhere

according to the designations approved by Ministry of Labour...to get the work permit for an engineer and more qualified designation...uu have to provide all certificates that are legalized in english language...u can only have the scan version of your certificates...because all certificates to be provided to ministry of labour using On-line system through Special Typing Centres))

Hey!

Thanks for the reply, i am going for an engineer role so perhaps that's why they requested my scanned versions of certificates so they can confirm in the UAE they are all good before I come over. Although I can't see it being a problem as I obtained then whilst serving for the armed forces.

Many thanks for the reply!

Lpool forward to getting to AD :)

Hi there,

Thanks Colin. Good luck with the employment, I'll be coming in a month also, let's us have a great adventure in this country. :)

Great information there Darky. I think I will ask my employer regarding this and I will not take any risk.
Btw Darky is it true that u've got to have a degree when u were hired as a manager (I don't have a degree, but I have 10 years experience on my field and I have worked with one of the directors who's  hiring me now), so basically he hired me based on my experience. Will I get a problem obtaining my work permit? Is it a rule & regulation of the government or is it case by case base on the employer?

Many thanks..

Actually u can get work permit as for example CLERK (becoz this profession doesn't need any degree)...but in fact u can work as a manager (maybe even yo employer will do internal contract with all responsibilities/salaries/benefits and your position in the company, becoz in approved by ministry of labour contracts there are no items showing yo responsibilities or even penalties)

Hi Darky,

If that will be the case (hired as manager and reported to minister of labour as clerk), how will that affecting my life in Abu Dhabi? Will I get any trouble, i.e: getting driving license, loan to purchase car, traveling, etc..

Thanks..

They will request that at some point "sometimes they'll notice that a bit l8", so its better to be prepared.

Darky

a lil bit it will affect on time of getting some documents...like driving licence etc.))
