French frog in Malaysia

Post new topic

didierj

Hi all,

I work for a telecommunication Company from New Zealand , basically i share my time between : UK , New Zealand and Malaysia.

I was working permanently In Kuala Lumpur and Sabah for many years . My wife is from Malaysia and we live in Kota Kinabalu now.

Most of my job is world-wide, I am a System and support engineer for Radio communication network. We used to travel during the past few years (France , UK , New Zealand and Malaysia).

Malaysia is a wonderful country , people really welcome you . I stay previously in KL for One year , it is a nice city but very busy also with a lot of traffic jam . I really prefer Sabah and the life over there is really cool.

We have two lovely daughters (15 months Twins : I can tell you it is a tough job !!!) we try to teach them several languages : English , French and Mandarin and we notice the first baby talking are in English language.

I am 43 now (yes time is running) and start now to plan our retirement in Malaysia .

Welcome on board Didier and Jane!

Thanks for this great presentation. What do you like the most in Malaysia? Do you speak the local language?

All the best,

Julien

Hi Julien,

Malaysia , is very happening , a lot of things to do :
-Trecking
-Sea Sport
-the food : simply fantastic
-People : they are really nice
-Malaysia is not far away from other Countries in South East Asia , it's very easy and cheap to jump to another place
-Multi racial : Malaysian people are mostly : Malay (the native) , chinese and indian so it is really interesting.
-and many more hope you have to discover by yourself

After many years i can understand Malay , speak a little bit (not so bad) , chinese still very difficult and chinese people here speak : mandarin , cantonese and okien so not really easy to pickup one.

Cheers

Didier
