Hello,
just curious about how dificult is find job in Malta in hospitality field. Im working as supervisor/bar manager in one of the biggest club in London. I hear hospitality job in Malta is not well paid. Do I need to start from bartender position again or is any chance that some of the nightclub in Malta ll give me chance  start as supervisor straight away. Any advise are welcome :)

Hi Katie,

welcome to the forum.

You will probably have to start and maybe even stay on the level of a bartender/waitress!

Malta is very small and you really need to be networked and speak Maltese to have a chance at a higher-paid job. You will need to speak Maltese to get a better position dealing with Maltese business partners, police and authorities.

Sorry I can't give you a more positive reply.

Cheers
Ricky

I thought people speak english there, as main language. But thank you anyway

Hi Katie,

no, the main language in Malta is Maltese ! And the locals let you know that. If you are only dealing with foreigners you get along with English but otherwise you will be lost. Anytime they want to talk things private they use Maltese !

Cheers
Ricky
