Pet Quarantine

I may be migrating to Mauritius soon.
I have an indoor cat.
I've read in various sites that pet quarantine takes anywhere between 3 to 6 months. Is that true? I'm not sure I can bear to be apart from my little furball for that long.

Is there any way I can have the quarantine period reduced e.g. pre-vaccinate, vet check-ups etc.?

What are the quarantine facilities like? Can I stay with kitty while in quarantine e.g. on-site accomodation for pet owners at quarantine facility?

Thanks & Regards,
Amun

Hi Amun,
Quarantine is 3 months, in an area called Reduit just outside Port Louis. You must be aware that there are xtensive tests required before the pet is allowed in, these tests should be carried out 6 months prior to departure.
Speak to pet transit companies for advice and your vet.
