Single permit application from other EU country(France) after masters

Hello All,

I am moving to Belgium from France after my masters, my employer is applying for my single permit. But my family is in India, I am getting recommendation to apply the reunion visa along with my application to avoid a delay of 6-9 months. may I know if anybody has gone through the same situation or has advice on how to apply at the same time? please do let me know. Thanks in advance
