Can I Travel without my F Card?

Post new topic

Sarah0524

I've been living in Belgium since August 2022 on a student card. This October I will be receiving my orange card for family reunification and my student card will become invalid. My partner and I would like to visit Poland to see family for Christmas and New years. However, my official F card won't be ready until February 2024. I am an American citizen and never needed a visa to enter or leave the country. Even though I'm on an orange card, would I be able to use my passport to gain entry back into Belgium? Could there be a problem trying to enter or leave this Christmas given my situation?

I was told by our city that my American husband can’t travel abroad during the time that his application for F-card is pending.but on Agii.be I read that if you don’t have a valid F-card yet, you’ll need a valid passport with valid visa (for short or long stay). I don’t have any experience, our family has been staying in Belgium just to not risk anything. My husband is also American so I hope to read sole experiences on your thread here

If you only have the orange card you are not allowed to travel, if you do there is a chance that your repeat trip will be canceled
