Additional Documents - Criminal History for single permit

Post new topic

Hello All,

I have a few questions on this.  I have received my work permit July 27th, and pending residence permit. (Flanders) employer Puurs.

(no reply email from may 11th)

I sent an online “checkr” for US criminal history & Brazilian criminal history certificate.

I have a friend who has just sent in the documentation, employer Antwerp (no reply from July 31st) - and IBZ requested a criminal history from FBI in apostille for her.

does this mean I might need to do it as well or should I wait in case they ask?

has anyone from the US have to do the FBI criminal record? Any tips?

thanks for any comments

Hi,

If your friend is currently in US, there are different ways for her to get that.

Maybe visiting FBI webpage can help her.

Here is the link:

You will only be asked that if you are a US citizen, if you lived legally in US, or if you are currently living in US as far as I understood as a social security number is needed and you have to provide US address for that type of report.

If she still has doubts, I would advice her to check with company that is hiring her and see if they can contact Immigration office.

Thank you for information. Both of us are resident Alien, workers not Permanent resident.

I wonder if this would be applied only for American citizens, We are actually going to the same company, but in different offices. We asked more information to the HR in Belgium to see if they can specify this request.

In the meantime, she is doing the form from the FBI.

When I relocated to Belgium in 2017 from US I was asked to have FBI clearance, so I believe you will be also asked given your current status and current residence location (US). Nonetheless, it def worth checking with HR.

Hope that helps! :)
