Hello,

I have been invited for a job interview for the position of assistant professor at AOU, I should do a short presentation to the scientific committee, I have some questions:

  • does it mean I have to present my research project? What I did and my future plans?
  • what is the duration of the presentation?

I appreciate any help, if you have any feedback about the university, the salaries and the procedure after the interview.

thank you all

Hi there,

Assuming that you will be teaching undergrad students, I think you should prepare a presentation on a topic that you will teach or your area of interest. I have had multiple interviews in Saudi Arabia and that's what they expect usually but if you are not sure, send them email for clarification. Duration is usually 10-20 minutes, but it can vary.

Salary depends on your field of study, terminal degree and years of experience plus your negotiation skills and passport. For example, my salary as assistant professor with 3 years experience back in 2017 was 20,000 SAR but I am in medicine which have the highest salaries usually.

Good luck
