In Zurich, people experience all four seasons throughout the year. In the summer, the temperature can go up to more than 30° C on some hot days; whereas in winter, the temperature can get below 0° C. In general, spring in Zurich lasts between April and May. Summer months last longer, from around June to September, depending on the year. Autumn, just as spring, lasts for a shorter time as well, from October to November. And between December and March, it is winter. It snows in Zurich in the winter months, although how much snow there is entirely depends on the year. In some years, it snows heavily only once or twice. In some other years, it snows more often in the winter.

Social life in Zurich

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland. Here, as it is the centre of finance, and increasingly of the technology and creative industries, it is not hard to find people from all around the world. As a result, most people in Zurich are more open-minded than, say, comparing to some other parts of Switzerland. However, this is not to say that it will be extremely easy for you to find friends in Zurich as an expat. Nature in Zurich

Needless to mention, Switzerland is a beautiful country where one could spend lots of time in nature. Although Zurich is a big developed city, there are many green spaces within the city, such as areas around Uetliberg ' Zurich's own hill, as well as the areas around the Zurich Zoo. Additionally, the lake and its shore, of course, is also a popular place for people to relax, spend time with friends and family, and do sports. Not very far from Zurich, you can also find many beautiful natural treasures, such as Mount Rigi and the Rhine Fall, where you can go sight-seeing or do sports such as hiking or biking.

In the winter, you can also easily go skiing at Flumserberg, which is only around 30 minutes away from Zurich. The location of Zurich, being conveniently connected to other Swiss cities as well as its neighbouring countries, gives residents countless opportunities to enjoy the beautiful nature offered.
