D visa for essential workers and travel to Belgium

external borders of EU just opened to 14 countries 30 minutes ago (China seems to be temporary denied, for now, as they don't allow all schengen member states to travel to their country).
The list of countries will be updated on a 2 weeks basis.

But Ukraine is not part of that list, as it seems they're too much new daily case of covid19. (seems to be 646 yesterday and 917 the day before...).
So, you're still under the covid19-ban for a while... To be honest, I don't think they'll let Ukrainian comes before a month or even later when I see the infection curve...

Btw, it depends who "consider" you as an essential worker, it seems that it is not Belgium itself (and so the embassy through their denial).

Whether you want to start your new job is one thing, considering yourself an essential worker is another.

Given the current situation, you should be able, through your high skill level, to understand the reluctance of civil servants.

So you do like everyone else, you wait and see.

Last thing, you should remember a basic principle. Every worker is essential at his level. Where would you be without the laboratory devices you use that are made by ordinary workers who may just have their primary school leaving certificate? ...

This is funny , Dear. It is not me considering myself essential – do you think I am THAT arrogant?  This position is listed in EC rules for exceptional entry during quarantine, that’s all. I just would like to know – if I have a right to entry, why I am stripped of this right on unknown reason.
And basically, you do not understand how data analysis works, so your comment about laboratory devices and workers with primary school certificate is not relevant.

Ukraine is still on the ban list until 15th July where it will be reassessed.

You're right about the exception for short stay 90d (visa-C or through your visa free-90d passport) and essential workers, but even in that case I'm pretty sure you still need an (officially) invitation or a laissez-passer.
It was not just enough to say: "hello I'm a doctor, let me in".


But you're actually talking about long stay visa-D (immigration), which is absolutely not the same!
After reading your 1st post again, I did miss that the embassy rejected the application itself, not the visa.

The embassy is closed for your case, only emergency visa requests are processed.
Visa D are not emergency visa requests.

So you'll "just" have to daily check the embassy website... or send a mail to have further information about the expected resume of normal operations
