Belgium Nationality 2026

@Srizzy

Integration certificate is required if u have even a single day gap in employment. If u left one employer on friday and joined second on Tuesday then monday ia a gap. In this case u require an integration certificate.

Commune : Uccle

Application Date : 14 April 2026

Approval : 2 September 2026 (~4.5 months)

-5 years individual accounts/ 2026’s monthly payroll slips

-Birth Certificate

-Marriage Certificate (for surname history)

-Proof of payment

I received letter from commune regarding approval of citizenship and they wrote we will invite you later. What are the next steps? Do I get ID first and then passport? Does anyone have experience how long would it take for them to invite me?

@Aliceweber

So for your nationality they did not ask for language/integration?

@Srizzy

He mentioned, He submitted "5 years individual accounts", it means he did continuously 5 year work, so language not needed.

@Aliceweber

Now you have to wait for nationality certificate either in mondosier or call from commune. then you can take an appointment for your id and passport.

@Srizzy

They evaluated 5 years uninterrupted work as proof of integration & language.

@gbsc0609

What will show on mijn dossier if its ready

@Aliceweber

Heyyy , congrats , I also got my approval recently. They invited me to order my ID and when I went to the appointment  they asked me if I wanted to order the passport as well , so of course I said yes . They said it's 1 week for the passport and 2 weeks for the ID. I just took a photo and my current L Card

@Naouel cherif

How long did it take??

@Gvad45

4 months

Did anyone get his/her Birth certificate from the Embassy, or a valid document can only be issued by inside the country of origin?

@Mehrdad_AS

Hi Mehrdad, for iranians, you need to obtain birth certificate(shenasname) translated and legalised in iran by the belgium embassy. but to be 100% sure, you can ask your commune.

Hi everyone, i wanted to ask if a gap in my two jobs during the transfer of single permit, count towards the five year required for permanent residence or not. I know it should count for five year of legal residence. But do they count for five year of continuous work? The gap is expected to be 2-3 weeks.

For L card not a problem. Since the requirements are 5 years of continuous legal residency(assuming your residency was legally covered by some annex or residence card itself). However for citizenship if there’s a gap in 5 years of continuous working you’d need inburgering attest(integration test + A 2 level speaking /reading /writing )

-en ayant suivi une formation professionnelle d’au moins 400 heures reconnue par une autorité compétente ;

-en ayant suivi avec succès un trajet d’intégration, un parcours d’accueil ou un parcours d’intégration prévu par l’autorité compétente de sa résidence principale au moment où le demandeur entame celui-ci ;

-en ayant travaillé de manière ininterrompue au cours des cinq dernières années comme travailleur salarié et/ou comme agent statutaire nommé dans la fonction publique et/ou comme travailleur indépendant à titre principal ;"
