non EU Wife F card application for Belg Husband

ARMaliq

Dear All,

I have a specific question regarding the application of an F card. My wife (non EU) joined me almost 2 years ago and have been living here since on card type A. Recently, I have acquired Belgian nationality. Can I apply for an F card for her now that I am Belgian?

I see that F's card is for family reunification but she already joined me here 2 years ago on a Family reunification visa. So will it change anything in terms of processing her F card application? I am asking this because I know that it can take 6 months for processing and there was somewhere a mention of Orange card.

Please guide me in this regard

Many Thanks!

Hi ARmaliq,

Congrats first of all. Secondly are you Belgian now? If so yes you can ask an F card for your spouse.

In this scenario as she already has an A card she will replace it with an F.

As long as she has a valid A card ( i suppose you are wondering in case of travelling outside of Belgium) you shouldnt worry about issuing time of F .

Good luck

Thanks. Yes, I am Belgian.

Will inquire from the commune and update here for future potential applicants.
