VFS Istanbul D Visa Processing Timeline

Hi,

I scheduled my visa appointment for December 5th this year, but my single permit was approved in mid October. Upon receiving this information, I sent an email to VFS Global and the Belgium embassy on 23rd October to revise my appointment for an earlier date. VFS Global phoned me up the next day, and made a new appointment for 13th of November. This morning I submitted all required documents to VFS Global smoothly.

I will receive my annex 46 soon, the question is which category should I select for VFS appointment if it will be single permit + family reunification? do i need separate appointments or can they handle my family’s documents too in a single permit reservation. thank you.

@quebecois1905 Each individual needs to book an appointment, you won’t be able to enter the building without one

Hello, when your work permit and residence permit are ready, it takes appx 5 days for approval from VFS Global Istanbul.

Hi there,

I have booked an appoinment from VFS Global for single permit visa for 24th of November 2025. I have my annex 46 and all related documents ready. Can my husband "now" submit an application for family reunification? I am asking it because on the documents required from family reunification, it says "A photocopy of the inviting person's residence permit"... so can he apply for the visa once mine is approved and I have my card OR can he apply now?

You should apply the visa D together  . Ideally your husband should also have an appointment for the same date and all the documents should be ready at the same day . If you do the application after yours it takes at least 6-9 months .

Apply together under same appointment under same application. For now you need to fill application form again , your husband will only need birth certificate, marriage certificate as a document.

Thanks very much Ozlem. I have called VFS global today to understand which category my husband should apply for. They said we are not advising any category. I believe that it is family reunification, right? If yes, does he need to provide all documents stated in family reunification category? I am asking it because someone replied back to me and said only ID card and marriage certificate are okay to bring. I do not think they are enough to provide. Thanks a lot!

Yes it has to be under family reunification category . I did not apply for  my husband because he had his own workpermit like me but did it for my daughter and I arranged all the documents under family reunification category but my case back to 2021 , so not sure still valid .
