In all probability, there is a case against you for the car.  The only way to check is to ask someone to find out on your behalf by asking Ministry of Justice or to reach out to the bank/leasing company.   I would not advise that you go back without settling it.  You will get a visa but when you land, that is when the situation will go bad.  They will locate you with the fingerprint that you give on arrival.   If you don't want to end up in jail or travel banned - skip this offer or resolve the issue.
