Resident Permit beyond job

Post new topic

Sarawal

Hello,

I have a resident permit working for an organization in Belgium. My assignment is coming to end in few months time. My work permit is valid till end of next year.
How long can I continue to stay in Belgium after my assignment comes to end as I would like to look for another job in Belgium/other EU countries. I will also be traveling in and out of Belgium.

Hello,

it depends when your company will report to the regional government that they don't employ you anymore. They've to do that once you're not working for them anymore.
Meaning that your work permit will be canceled.

Then few days/weeks later, you'll receive a formal order to live the country within 90 days.

Basically, you should have +/- 90 days left after your last work day to find another job.
