Hello,

I would like a bit of information and was hoping the expats or residents of Morocco might be able to help me.

I am currently residing in UK and would like a change somewhere that isn't too far at the same time if i needed to come back to the UK over the weekend etc.

I have travelled to Agadir and Marrakesh and did really like Agadir but not sure if it would be good to live in due to it mainly being for tourism.

However this year i am due to travel from Fez, Tangier, Casablanca to see what them parts are like as i understand they are a bit more homely and a lot more tradition is held there.

I was wanting advice on where you think i should purchase a house?

Also would it be easy for me to get around only been able to speak English?

Any other information you could supply would help greatly.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

A lot of people speak English in Casablanca and Rabat, more so than other big city’s in Morocco. Fez, Agadir and Marrakech have a lot of tourists. I would have a look at Rabat. I really liked the city, it was calm, weather is not as hot as say marrakech can get and you feel more at home because your not judged to be a tourist by people. Flights run direct to uk from Rabat and Casablanca is only a short train ride away. Casablanca is a big city, I liked it their and happily wondered around many times getting by with speaking English. Like Rabat it doesn’t get extreme hot. Marrakech has a lot to do, has a nice vibe about it. I would live on the outskirts though as the center is very European and expensive. I’m sure you would meet expats in all these cities. Agadir is nice too, a ten minute walk from the beach and you can find nice areas away from the tourist set up
