moving to the uk from ireland

hi guys, i'm just wondering if i could get some advice about moving to the uk as in where's the nicest places for families, low crime etc. I'm a 30 yr old girl with a partner & 2 little boys. My partner is a plumber, there seems to be lots of work for him in around birmingham so we're thinking maybe tamworth,lichfield somewhere like that. I would love to move to liverpool/chester but not sure if there's much work there. any information would be really appreciated. thanks!
