Hello EnJHiggins

I invite you to drop in an advert in our section Construction and Civil engineering jobs in Malta.

This might help your partner ;)

I will do that, thank you :)

You should wait until you have arrived in Malta. You won't secure a job before you are on the island.

That's the way things work here. Make sure you have financial reserves to get you over the first weeks.

Cheers

That's good to know, thank you :) Just wondering do you know are there plenty of job opportunities in Sliema area?

ricky

Depends!

There does seem to be a lot of building going on but .............more and more workers on sites seem to be from Africa ! I suspect that the pay is not that good.

English won't help much. Do you speak Maltese? To get along you have to speak Maltese otherwise you won't know what is going on. When we had workers in our building doing repairs on the drainage only 1 out of 5 workers spoke understandable English!

i also notice an increase on african workers
in one instance i was at post office and 5  cons. workers were cashing their week paycheck, all had between 225-250e

also, from some people that i know and are working as con. workers, they can get up to 1300 p/m, but that's with 3 or 4 working saturdays, and very dependeble on site where they are working

hope it helps a bit
