Hi Tnelson, most welcome to UAE,
You know, lots of people have dog pets in UAE!
The main thing is to know: are you looking for an appartment or a villa/townhouse?
In areas with buildings, they didn't think of dogs so there are no areas where you can walk him so that he can do his business 
Some people do keep small dogs in appartment, but then also it depends if you dog is a "barker"; neighbouts might get annoyed by the noise!
However if you can rent a house with a small garden, you'll have no problem!
Then again it depends on your budget, LOL!
