Which is more difficult? Finding a shared flat or finding a job?

In my opinion finding a shared flat is more difficult than finding a job for the following reasons:
- There are more jobs offered than flats for sharing.
- Jobs do not depend much on what your nationality is. Flat sharing very much does (try calling and hear for yourself).
- If you are accepted for a job normally you take the job. If you find a flat many times you don't like living there.
- If you start the job you start earning money. If you start living in a shared flat you pay money. :P
- In a job you have a manager to complain to against your colleagues. Shared flat ... EVICTION :O

So, what do you say? Like to know what other X-pats think. :)

LOL JFU you made my day! yes, indeed! finding shared accommodation is on par in difficulty as finding a job.

heres my addition:

- in both you have to wait to use the bathroom.
- in both you have to label your food in the fridge.
- in both you have to smile and pretend to like people (at least initially).

yes, a lot of people look for same ethnicity when bunking together - however, if two friends decide to share accommodation, a world of wonder arises!

most buildings say "No bachelors", however this is simply to deter blue collar workers, i.e. they look the other way with certain nationalities/ professions.
