Moving to Ebene for studies?

Hi, I'm from Kolkata India. For those who might not know, Kolkata is an urban city on the east coast of India. I was considering moving to this new college in Ebene, Mauritius to pursue medicine. Could you tell me how far Ebene is from Port Louis or other populated urban areas in Mauritius (in tranport time, preferably)? I read a few posts and they all seemed to suggest that Ebene seems to have no public transportation at all post 6pm and no nightlife? Is it safe? Since I don't know much about the geography either, how pretty is Ebene as a town?

Ebene is not a town, its a cybercity, not a huge one, a small one. Transport problems exist there, specially after 6 p.m. Not safe at night. But its a nice place to live. There is also no night life.
