Hello All,

I am planning to pursue master’s degree in mechanical engineering at University of Auckland. At first i thought mechanical engineers will easily find employment in NZ. But after going through various blogs and sites it looks situation is bit worse. Though mechanical engineering comes in long term shortage skill, still i am not sure about job prospectus after graduating. I hope someone will guide me here.

thanks,

stumpy

By undertaking your degree in Auckland University you may be in a position to find part time work in the industry which would then give you a chance of finding employment in NZ.

Also getting the degree in NZ would be much better than coming to NZ with an overseas degree which would be closely scrutinised if you were seeking work and may not be recognised.
