Hi,

I am moving to Edinburgh and I will need to open a bank account. Any advice on which to choose, or not choose?

Thank you! :-)

Hi,

As you're gonna be new in Scotland, the most easy way to get an account is with Lloyds TSB or Hallifax (you can do it online). Basically Bank of Scotland for an example wont give you an account the first year so you don't have a lot of choices.

Thank you! :-)

You can also open one with Barclays; there's one just off of Princes street if you're interested. We just went through the process of looking for banks here, and most of them require European ID. Barclays and a few others will open one for you with just your passport.

We just did a post on our experiences in [link moderated], if you want to read a bit more about it.
