Dears,

i'm writing this having some queries in mind, may be some helpout by giving an answer.

I'm in Riyadh on Visit visa, although my husband is Telecom Engineer but due to trade in his visa i.e. Technician couldnt apply Family visa.

Now we have processed his degree from Pakistan embassy in Islamabad, some attestion etc so we are gonna apply for family visa.

my questions are:

1.My passport is on Father's name, should we apply for family visa having this or

2. Have to change passport on spouse name?

3. If Option 2 so can we apply passport change of name here in Riyadh, how , please i need full process explained.

4. Another question, as we all know we get 2 extensions here one worth duration of 3 months... means total 9 months we can stay here, but if we wish to extend it further, is it possible?? what will be the criteria?

I hope someone get answer me to satisfy and process further, may be some more question arise in mind, so ask you guys later

Thanks in advance

please inform me if it is okay..? or is there anyother approval as my admin manager never told me about anything more as per him its the visa and get it stamped from Saudi embassy in Karachi.

Well if you already got visa brother and processed in Embassy either in Karachi or Islamabad
it will take hardly 1 week to stamped visa on Passport and you also can book seat as early as you want but within 30 days of visa stamping ( this is what i experiences during my visit visa)

Normally when my husband apply for visa here in Riyadh, we mutually decide date of arrival before, by taking total process days in mind, however Karachi embassy give back passport after stamping very fast as compare to Islamabad one

@Aali786: I believe there is no need to have a passport with surname changed for family visa. Still if u r keen to change then it be done from riyadh and for that matter visit Pakistan Embassy in DQ for revising details on passport.
If u r coming on hubby's iqama then attested nikah documents will be a key requirement.  The span of visit visa has been reduced to 1 month in many cases. Additional extensions per month require 100 SAR if m not mistaken. Hence better to come on ur hubby's iqama.

Thanks dear for kibd reply, its good if no need of surname change, so during this time period we can apply for it, thats good enough

@Aali786,
You have to change passport in the name of your husband because the visa you'll get will be a wife (Zoja) visa. Name change is not necessary; it's a culture thing only.

The queues in Pak embassy are pathetic just like their procedures. A regular passport is taking 100+ days to arrive from Pakistan and an urgent on in 30+ days. Moreover, they'll need you to get a 'married' overseas NADRA card which has it's own wait times. Basically, no e-passport creation or NADRA things are done here; all comes from Pakistan.

You can't be on husband's Iqama if your passport is on your father's name. Keep it as a very important consideration.

No, the max time you can get extensions is 9 months.

Thanks much TheLegend for your reply

i do conside the point, no harm in changing Passport on Husband name,
so can i easily change passport here in Riyadh during my stay as i have more 5 months visa validity still??

My marriage certificate is already attested being the time i first time come here

so what this NADRA Marriage card means??
