Long-term study/research visa still processing after almost 60 days

Ryanka Edila

Hi all,

I applied for a Czech long-term visa (study/research) about 2 months ago. The official processing time is 60 days, and now I’m already close to that limit but still no decision.

Has anyone here experienced getting their visa exactly on the last day (day 59/60) or even later? If yes, how long did it take in your case?

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.

I would contact them and ask why it is taking so long.

Thanks for your reply.

I already contacted the embassy, but they said there is no update yet from the MOI. I also tried emailing the MOI visa department, and their response was just that the application is still being processed.

To be honest, I’m getting a bit stressed because my research timeline has already been planned with my professor there, and also my accommodation arrangements are affected. :)

Thanks a lot for the insight!!

But talking about the timeline,  just to share, I submitted my application on 6 August 2025.

I noticed that the reference numbers include the submission date, so it’s quite easy for me to check other cases by changing the digits. When I checked, the case submitted on 1 August was already approved two weeks ago. Surprisingly, even the one submitted on 20 August at the same embassy as mine was already approved last week.

This honestly makes me even more overthinking  ;)
