Residence Permit Validity Following Unlimited Work Authorization

Mehrdad_AS

As the topic says, I am wondering how long the DVZ department gives residence authorization following an unlimited work authorization procedure.

Is it one year, two years, or more? If it varies, what are the bases for such a decision?

Thank you.

Everyone I know or have heard of received it for one year. My understanding of such a decision is that, since an unlimited work permit is not directly tied to an employer (your ID card doesn’t list the company number you work for), people could theoretically stay in the country for years without having a job. When there’s an obligation to renew the permit every year, you also prove that you’re employed and actually working, rather than just staying in the country. When a permit is limited to one company, once the employment ends, the company is required to inform the authorities that you no longer work there. In the case of an unlimited work permit, companies probably don’t have such an obligation as they are not applying for your permit, but you.

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense to me.

Do you know what is the starting date of the residence permit? Is it dependent on the time of work authorization? Because I hear that this process may take months so I wonder when the 1-year period starts.

Thanks.

@Mehrdad_AS

in my case, my latest temp. residency permit was going to expire on September 2024, I have applied for indefinite work permit on April and got the approval on May. It was given only for 1 year, which is going to be expired next year on May. So once your indefinite work permit is approved, it will be starting from that month and will expire in 1 year.

Renewing the indefinite work permit does not take as much long as single permit takes.

@umutgulum

Thanks for the explanation, it was really helpful. Do you know what document they need for renewing it?

@Mehrdad_AS

  1. Current employement contract (if exist)
  2. Health insurance
  3. Last (x) years payslips extracts from secretary. (x depends situations)
  4. Identity proof
  5. Card(s) and Permits (if exist)

Is having the employment contract a required document? or optional?

To renew the unlimited single permit,

how many months in advance do you apply,

where do you apply,

and how long does it take?

gannam

@math7612

they say to apply 3 months in advance, but commune said residence renewal might take 4 months so advised to get annex at the date of expiry. I am waiting 2 months - nothing yet, only consultations of my dossier activity. I can see in my dossier that they started to work on it very soon, within week of applying - but no news yet.

@gannam

But are we appliying for renewal on which platforme 3 months before ?

gannam

@math7612

at the commune desk

Mehrdad_AS

@gannam

Did they ask for work contract too? for the renewal I mean.

gannam

@Mehrdad_AS

yes, they did. The list was written on the website, and I prepared everything possible, including copies of all previous residence permits, work permits, passport, etc. Everything was accepted into the file.
