Marriage certificate for Visa D

kapooramit1979

Hi.  I am in process of relocation to Belgium from India.  I have been informed from my Belgian office Expat deptt. that I will need to have Marriage and Birth certificate "Non-EU citizens can share the certificate as used for the visa application: version of max 6 months old + apostille and translation + apostille" to apply for work and residence permit. They specifically mentioned that I need to obtain fresh certificates and my existing marriage certificate (obtained at the time of marriage, 14 yrs back) will not work. This looks to me not logical. Appreciate to have advice on this topic please. Do I need to obtain new certificates?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and support.

Anyone aware of the process now? Do we need new certificates issued (not older than 6 months)?

You need to connect to the place where you marriage is registered. The marriage registrar of that location will provide you with an updated stamped copy.
