PCC from country other than India

Hi All,

I have received my work permit and I am planning to apply for the Long stay type D visa. The documents required list has Police Clearance Certifcate. The Vfs team says it needs to be apostiled.

I was in UK since last 5 years and came back to India in March 2018. I have got a PCC done for my stay there.

My query is, do I need to apostile the PCC issued by UK police or it is not required ? Any one been in this situation before?

If PCC from UK is to be legalized or not for the visa application, guidelines from VFS or consulate is final on this.

If it is to be legalized:

PCC from UK cannot be apostilled/legalized in India. It must be done in the UK as you may already know.

Indeed, why go through an agent when government provides the service directly. Also, https://www.gov.uk/get-document-legalised is the one recommended by Belgian foreign department.
