Register in commune with proof of residence for RP

kaviinfy15

Hi All,

I am currently in Brussels and will be moving to a rental accomodation by January. My friend lives in Germany and she will be reaching Brussels only by February and will live in my house. The rental agencies say they will give contract on my name only from January and once my friend reaches Brussels they will give her a proof of residence documents instead of adding her to my existing rental contract.

Please let me know if she can register in the commune with the proof of residence documents or if her name in rental agreement is mandatory for her to get RP.

Thanks.

Hi , Welcome to Brussels.

Yes she can decelerate and register herself in commune. However most likely there will be a control afterwards and police would like to see evidences that she lives in mentioned adress (ie: Name on PBox-ring etc)

Good luck.
