Domicile certificate for a temporary stay in Ghent

Anil Pothamsetty

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to move to Ghent on a student visa, and will be staying there for only 1 semester (~5 months).

Can I rent a flat where owner is not ready to provide a Domicile certificate? Is Domicile certificate mandatory for police verification? Or rental contract is fine to get by.

Any stay longer than 3 months requires an address..

@Anil Pothamsetty Hi,

A rental contract is enough for police verification.

Just be sure on the contract you make with your landlord so that when you want to leave in 5 months there is no penalty.
