10 or 20 year Term Life Insurance for Dominican Citizens

Hello

We are trying to find out if here in the DR, we can get a long term life insurance policy (10 or 20 years). We want this for the kids.  One of us is under 40, in good health, and a non smoker so we think the price should still be reasonable.

A long term policy means you dont have to renew it and you pay the same price for the policy, each year. Does this exist in DR, and who provides it?

Thank you for your help,
Karin and Carlos

Do you have to buy it here?

I have what you're talking - bought decades ago...

It's a Cdn Manulife policy (no longer available)... joint last to die type policy

I paid ONCE..... good for life... no annual payment
You must buy that here,   you cannot insure someone from another country normally

Yes they are available.   Its actually a fair bit easier to get here then  back home, less onerous to apply,.I will message you for details.
WillieWeb, I am jealous!  That sounds like a very good policy, maybe Manulife should open shop in DR!
That type of policy is not available here and the up front premium is normally quite large.  Joint last to die is usually used for estate planning / tax planning / business planning purposes.

Things have changed a great deal.
It may not exist any more....

I was the first purchaser my agent had....
After hustling me years and getting 'zero', he went home and pondered

Two years later he was top salesman in Canada
Took me out to lunch to thank me

The  rate was about $20,000 down for every million of insurance
My wife was 28 at the time - hence the low rate

Joint last to die - they focus on the younger one
Planner, if you could, I'd like that info also. Thanks
Happy to help. I will message you.
Hi Planner, we too would like any info that you could provide.....I'm soon to be 64....Thanks
Sorry, soon to be 64,   American, live here in Santiago for 5 years now.
As soon as I get some quotes I will post info here!
