I have not had the need to do this while living in the DR but my USA banks have apps that allow me to deposit checks online. If I needed to deposit money from my Dominican Republic bank account in Dollars I could deposit by scanning pic of check with phone. I'm not aware of any bank in Dominican Republic that has that type of app but it would be great and avoid going to bank physically.

Just an FYI to everyone recommending Remitly - it's a great service for sending money TO the DR, but it CANNOT be used to send money OUT of the DR, to the US or anywhere else.

If you have a Dominican account you can transfer the money directly to your U.S. account.  Depending on the bank, you can use the online website, or the computer at the bank.
