Becoming expat and living in Jakarta

Hi guys,

I am Felix from Berlin/Germany and 43 years old. I am married with my wife and her 3 kids from Jakarta. Still I live in Berlin, but want to move over to Jakarta and work and live there together with my family.
Here in Berlin I am working at the airport at check-in and boarding including passenger service. But i am open for any kind of job of course.
The problem is, how to start moving over to Jakarta and finding a job. To life there legal, I know I need to have a legal job and so on but how to find that and to manage all this..
Maybe some of you have good advices or any other help, like information and so on, I really would appreciate it! :-D
How can I get legal to Jakarta to live there?

THIS thread gives yo a lot but feel free to ask any other question you feel you need more specific answers to.

If you're married to an Indonesian, the getting here is easy enough as you'll be able to get a spouse sponsored 12 month ITAS with little or no problem, but working is a different story.
You'll need an employer willing to pay for the work permit and usually give you a very nice remuneration package of the sort common to expats here.
That usually (or at least should) limit your field to specialist work - but this is Indonesia so rules can be as rubber as local timekeeping.

Teacher is suitable for expat.
Especially if you have the right requirements and degree.

We have so many clients in different schools all over jabodetabek,one school to mention is high scope somewhere at south jakarta,compensation is good also.

You must check when is the start of classes,one month before you can send application,walk in or online.

IT industry is booming,we have lots who did kitas,relevant to IT industry.

You need to try whether online or walk in application.from there you will know.

That presupposes an interest in that type of work, the appropriate skill set, and suitable qualifications.
Interest and qualifications are pretty common, but the skill set required is rare, that being evidenced by the number of totally crap teachers in schools all over the world.
However, if the OP has both skill and inclination, there's always the German International School in BSD.

I did post the contact details but part of a teacher's essential skill set is the ability to think, so I edited them out and wrote this instead.

for me is omportant first, that I can immigrate there legal and stay. of course i would also seek a job somehow then.

If married to an Indonesian, a KITAS is all but guaranteed.

It's possible you may have to prove you have enough money to live here without working, but there's nothing stopping you looking for a job whilst on a wife sponsored KITAS.
