The Magic Flute: Introduction to the world of opera
Dive into the magical world of opera with an introductory workshop on "The Magic Flute," to be performed in August at the Caudan Arts Center. This special event, designed for children aged 6 to 12, will be led in English by Katrin Caine, a professional opera singer and music educator. During the one-hour workshop, children will discover what opera is, learn about Mozart, explore the different voices and instruments used in opera, and gain insights into how an opera house operates. You may already know him from his famous "What the fuck France" video series or his previous bilingual shows. British comedian Paul Taylor is back on stage, and this time he's coming to Mauritius! On Saturday, August 26, at the Trianon Convention Center, catch his latest bilingual show, titled "Bisoubye x." Youth readings
On Saturdays, July 15 and 29, at 10:30 a.m., join your child for a children's reading session at the IFM media library. The first session will feature "Georgette's Families," a story celebrating diverse families, suitable for children aged 3 and above. The session on the 29th will focus on "Du bout des ailes" by Joëlle Ecormier, designed for children aged 8 to 12.
Self-development workshop
From July to August, the Institut français de Maurice offers workshops to enhance children's skills and stimulate their creativity. The workshops are divided into three age groups: 6 to 8, 9 to 11, and 12 to 14. Activities include African percussion, weaving, fashion design, fabric printing, LEGO robotics, and storytelling. Passionate professionals in each field will lead the workshops, taking place at the IFM from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. It's a unique opportunity for children to develop their skills and flourish during their vacation. Open-air cinema
On July 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Ébène Recreational Park, relive the magic of the fifth installment in the Harry Potter saga during an open-air cinema session. The film will be shown in its original version with French subtitles.
