Hi everyone

Particulars (details):

Valid UAE residence visa
Own car 2011 (NON-GCC specs)
Valid KSA tourist visa category Business (by air entered KSA ONCE) One year- Maximum stay 90 days.

Question:
1) Wanting to drive by road using Abu Dhabi Border, do I need to get Carnet de Passage (CPD) and RTA tourism trip ticket for my car?
2) The maximum duration of stay and insurance that can be purchased on the border?
3) I asked Bassami (car transport company) to get my car delivered to Jeddah, but they rejected saying you need to be resident in both countries (Iqama & EID) for a tourist visa we cannot.

I know this question has been on the forums but nobody mentioned anything about NON-GCC specs and CPD document

Appreciate the support in advance.

Hello Abdallah,

My KSA insurance has 30 days GCC cover per year without purchasing extra cover. My T&Cs say I do not have to inform about going to Bahrain but I do for anywhere else.
Check your insurance small print to get the facts.

I also started my contract on a similar visa, it only allowed me to travel by air and stated “NO LAND CROSSING’ on the hard copy of the visa in Arabic. Check that too with the ministry of tourism.

Hope that helps.

@Smiler1 Hey!
The insurance i will can get checked or purchase on the border. I have Oman cover for now.

Regarding the visa mine does not specify by land or by air entry. At least the stamped visa on the passport.
Is there any other print version where this could be checked?

Hi,

Not sure, I can only refer to what my own said, so outside this I am unable to offer any more help.

Best of luck.

Nobody will check Non-GCC specs as long as the car is registered in UAE.

There is no such thing as CPD document for GCC cars.  You purchase third party insurance at the border.  The duration varies but generally it can be up to a year.  The actual stay is determined by your KSA visa.

@XTang hey,
Was expecting your reply to be honest!
My visa stay duration is 90days.

What about travel restriction such as by air by land? Nothing on my visa states anything.
I don’t want to do a trial and error

Thanks

Look closely at your visa - the mode of travel is written in Arabic on the left side of the visa.  Joo is by air, mufuth is open.

@XTang On the stamped Visa?

If nothing, then no issue.
