Driving with foreign license plates in Saudi Arabia

Hello everyone,

i imported a car from Germany to Saudi Arabia and the car will be there for round about 4 weeks.
The car will be driven around and i wanted to know, if it is needed to have local license plate or if the car can be driven with the german license plate.

Anyone has experience in this? Also a link to a quote would help a lot.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have a link but what I do know is that if the driver is on a visit visa and BRINGS the car into Saudi (not import), the car can be driven around for the duration of the trip if insurance is purchased.

But you are importing a car not driving it in on a visit.  I would assume that you can at max drive it for some days i.e. the time it takes to get a local license plate.  But after that, you will start having issues with traffic police.
